Creative Ways to Set the Family Table for Thanksgiving

Congratulations – it is your turn to bring the Thanksgiving festivities this year! The centerpiece of your efforts is, of course, the family Thanksgiving table. Here are some of the best new ideas for your November holiday table settings.
Floral Napkins
An easy way to spice up a table setting is to accent the napkins alongside a traditional setup. For a floral napkin, you can weave a border along a kraft paper runner. Use a green charger to add color and top it off using a patterned plate. You can use sculptured flatware to offset floral napkins for a great look.
Rustic Leaf
A 12 in. squared birch bark sheet makes a beautiful place mat on top of a kraft paper runner. Use whipstitched edges for a bold look. Use a place card made out of wire leaf alongside a ceramic plate, gingham napkin and flatware with a wood accent for a complete look.
Rose Gold Wishbone
Using a kraft paper runner as a base, you can form a basket weave pattern in the center alongside an earthy dinner plate. If you have a plate with a clay rim and an etched charger, this will really set off the look. Use a patterned napkin and finish the setting with rose gold flatware. This is a warm look that your family should love.
The Kids’ Table
Set up a great time for the kids by covering the dining table with kraft paper. Set out plenty of crayons and let them play tic tac toe and doodle after they eat. To really create a great look, use name cards of stamped birch so that the older kids feel a bit more adult.
