Warm The Holiday Nights With Storytime Around The Fire Pit
OnThe holiday season is best when spent with friends and family. Having the warmth and closeness of loved ones is what makes this time of year so special. Celebrate by inviting everyone over for a winter bonfire in the backyard. Check out these tips to make it a spectacular night for all!
Get a Good Fire Pit
Winter nights can get quite cold so it’s important that your bonfire be strong and powerful to keep everyone warm. You may wish to opt for a gas fire pit over the typical wood fire so that it lasts longer and provides more heat. You also won’t have to repeatedly add more wood or worry about the cold and heat tug-of-war that can typically happen.
Don’t Forget Snacks
Everyone loves to make s’mores but you can also include other treats like meat and cheese trays, veggie or fruit trays, and plates of cookies and other sweet treats. Set these up on a table with plenty of plates, cutlery, and napkins to make sure everyone stays satisfied. Don’t forget the warm apple cider and hot chocolate drinks!
Get Cozy on the Ground
Especially for the children in the group, sitting on the ground is a fun way to get nice and cozy by the fire. During winter, however, the ground can be too cold, wet, and hard to be comfortable for very long. Instead, opt for an outdoor rug to sit on and add pillows to lean against and blankets to stay warm. You may even wish to provide extra hats, scarves, and mittens in case anyone gets cold.
